Blizzard Announces Diablo 3

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

With no official live date set, Blizzard has released some insight into Diablo 3.  Diablo has long been a favorite amongst gamers, including myself.  The graphics look stellar and the in-game footage seen here (http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3) appears enticing.  It’s predecessor Diablo 2, release back in 2000, was a highly addictive Action RPG.  D2 was both a single and multi-player based game that was attractive to many of the genres fans.  Unlike World of Warcraft, Diablo 2 did not yield a monthly subscription fee which was nice.  However, Diablo 2 was one of the most highly hacked games and cheater infested games I ever recall playing.  I was a huge fan for about 6 months until countless hours of game play were thrown away in a single second, compliments of a fabulous game exploit (in which a 9 year old robbed me blind).

I’m hoping that Diablo 3 will overcome its flaws from the past and become the game it appears to have the potential of being.

One last thing, D2 was released for PC and MAC OS, it would be nice if they release for both platforms again as well as reach into the console market.

Last week The Fridge Bandit and I were discussing games we should start playing.  This article caught my attention.

Initially called Quake Zero, Quake Live will be a successor to Quake 3 that has the potential to bring deathmatch out of the basement and into the mainstream. In an interview with PC Gamer, Carmack talks in detail about the premise of his latest project and his expectations towards it.

iPhone Jailbreak 1.1.4 (ZiPhone)

ZiPhone Jailbreak

With just over 13 days from the 3G iPhone being released I have finally jailbroke my iPhone.  Don’t ask me why I have not done this earlier.  It could not have been easier and thus far I am really enjoying it.  If you have not already ran jailbreak on your iPhone (I doubt it), I recommend doing so immediately.  Apple’s iPhone official apps scheduled for release July 11th look promising however it may prevent some neat (controversial) apps from ever seeing the light of day.  Chances are I’ll probably jailbreak the iPhone 2.0 - Should be available within a week or two of its release.

If you are looking to run jailbreak and/or unlock your iPhone or iPod touch check out Life Hacker’s article “Jailbreak any iPhone or iPod Touch in 45 seconds“.  Simply have your iPhone running the current 1.1.4 firmware and download and install ZiPhone for your Mac or PC.

Enjoy!
